Might surprise you (Leigh) to learn that I don’t actually have much of any problem with it.

Where I differ is in the following points: the purpose of the law is to provide the possibility of creating recompense and/or punishment for not showing the societal value of equality and equity.

I don’t think that trans people *frighten the population*, either — and given the extreme lack of balance there, I would consider that to be blaming the victim for the actions of the attacker.

I’m curious, though — who has accused you of cisprivilege? I’m interested in knowing because they need a crash course in what cisprivilege is.

In that area, that’s about it.

Strawman — at no time have I ever said “anyone who takes hormones”. That’s a misrepresentation of my position.

Not to mention an evasion of the questions.

As has been noted already, I’m sticking to the definition of transsexuals as provided predominantly by the ICD-10, since that’s the only place the term is explicitly used.

So, for reference, when here, you can go by that.

Ah. So are you then saying that there isn’t hatred for transsexuals out there, that society as a whole doesn’t condone such?

There wasn’t any forgetting involved — while I could have made notes on patriarchy and privilege in particular, they are sorta implicit in the discussion of modesty as a social element. However, this wasn’t an essay on modesty, itself, merely an observation on its effects.

Fear, absolutely. But then, the basis of the argument discussed is one of fear, so that’s going to be in there.

Dyss that was one great essay – some many very complex points and all in plain english , it was a great read and grist for the Mill – it expands the dialog adds texture and depth to the arsenal of Ideas in our struggle for Human Rights and what drives societies hatred and fear of Gender Variant and/or Transsexual people in particular , and i thank you for that.
