This site is a complicated one.

It is written by the woman to the right there.

That’s me.

I am generally found around the web under the name Dyssonance. My actual name is not all that hard to figure out, but I do like to make people work at figuring it out. Even just a little.

On this site I talk about things that I notice, that I think, that I feel, that I believe, that I know. Most of it surrounds a mixture of my daily life as I go through it, and things that involve my interactions with other blogs, other online people, news articles, commercials, business, politics, the weather, gardening, cooking, and probably most of all…

Stuff about transsexuals in particular, Trans folk in general, and LGBT folk in general.

Yes, its one of those blogs.

To get around this site is easy.  On the right you will see several boxes that run down the side of the page. The first one introduces me.

  • The second one is basically me begging for money ’cause I’m a po’ gal and unemployed at the current time and all the rest of that boring stuff.  I’ll take a decent job offer, as well.
  • Then there is a list of the ten most recent posts I’ve made here. Good stuff.  THis is here to sorta keep you from making the mistake of going in when you aren’t ready.  Like a book cover.
  • After that is a list of the ten most recent comments made by people here.
  • Next is the categories section.  These are collection of posts grouped by some themes.  You click on the theme, you get the posts.  The “old” theme is from before I started doing things this way.
  • Next is a list of the permanent features — pages and reference points for people that are often looked for.
  • Then a quick image that’s sorta like a badge I made to drive a point home and demonstrate a peculiar kind of pride. And there’s a whole passle of humor behind that, as well.
  • Then the monthly calendar.  Click on a day that’s highlighted, and you can see the posts I made that day, and go back through the archives by date.
  • After that is a listing of months, with the number of posts in each, so you can see the posts from that particular time.
  • Lastly comes all my blogrolls — the link library that I’m perpetually working on.  It will, I suspect, be extremely long by the time I’m actually done. Just in time to add more.

For more information about me, personally, and in particular, you can, of course, read my “About Me” page.

Chiefly though, my current approach to life in general, and political and social efforts in particular, can be summed up in this single quote from Carlyle’s Past and Present, Chapter 6:

Thou and I, my friend, can, in the most flunkey world, make, each of us, one non-flunkey, one hero, if we like:
that will be two heroes to begin with:
Courage! even that is a whole world of heroes to end with, or what we poor Two can do in furtherance thereof!
