Ok, this has finally gotten to the point where it’s just too damn annoying for me.
Transgendered, realistically, is an “acceptable” form of the word in terms of dictionary definitions. But it *really*, really peeves the living *f* out me.
Simple reason, too.
People don’t write “gayed”, or “womaned”, or “lesbianed” or “christianed” when describing someone. So WTF makes it acceptable to say transgendered? Seriously. I don’t mean that as a rhetorical question. And I’m not asking the people who don’t say it, I’m asking the one’s who do.
And if you are going to start a website, and you are going to send me random emails out of the blue asking me to join your site, and you expect me to do so, DO NOT put transgendered on it as one of four options. Put Trans. Just trans. Or else put the full listing of trans identities, and, while you are at it, put the full listing of gay and lesbian and bi identities on it. The whole damn thing.
It seriously pisses me off when I see it.
Especially since while I am one of those trans people, I am not a transgender person. I am a transsexual person. This is why I don’t use transgender. This is why I do use Trans. If you can’t see that there are serious differences in just the letters used there, please, learn something about us.
And before anyone comes up to me and says “well, you are one of those transgender activists”, no, I am not. I am a Trans Activist. And if you don’t know the difference, then read the article that I went to the freaking trouble to write in the first place.
And if you want to say that Trans is just another way of saying Transgender, then fuck off and die in a fire, or read the freaking article I wrote in the first place.
The whole thing, not just parts of it.
I mean, seriously, peopled, are youed that mindlessed?
Grrrrr.!
Ok, that’s done, I feel better now.
